Founding of the company in the private residence  I  1982
Robert Mayr, a former design engineer in the composite department of an Air and Space
Company and Assistant Professor in the Plastics Technology Department of the University
of Applied Sciences in Rosenheim built the first prototypes and small series in the basement
and garage of his own private residence. End of 1983 he founded an Engineering Office
for fiber composite technology and thus laid the ground work to today’s company.

New separate workshop  I  1984
Soon the basement and garage were no longer big enough and a small workshop
was rented in Rosenheim. With orders for the development and manufacturing of
X-ray parts for the Medical Device Industry the small company grew steadily. But
even this little workshop became too small for the 4 employees so that within that
same year another move took place to the address Oberaustrasse 1 in Rosenheim..

First big order for X-ray composite parts and another move  I  1984
Together with the arrival of the first autoclave vessel we inaugurated the new location. In
1986 the legal form of the company was changed from sole proprietorship to that of a
limited liability company called Faserverbundtechnik Robert Mayr GmbH and in 1990 it was
renamed to Mayr Faserverbundtechnik GmbH. In the meantime we not only manufactured
composite parts for the Medical Device Industry, but also for the Machine Manufacturing
Industry, Measuring Technology Industry and Air & Space Industry. Due to lack of sufficient
space another move into today´s premises at Oberaustrasse 14 was initiated in 1995.
