Model cars pose strong construction and
material challenges. Especially in the
off-road area light weight construction and
extreme durability are combined.
To meet those challenges top materials like
carbon, dispal and PEEK-CF are used. These
materials are manufactured in modern German
facilities and also find their use in Formula 1
Racing as well as the Air & Space Industry.
In model cars the use of CFRP is not without
controversy. Multiple accidents, stone impacts
and rough circuits can lead to broken CFRP
if it is not applied wisely. By proper fiber layout
and direction, constructive design and
alter-
native plastics, for example impact resistant
PA, it is possible to enjoy the advantages while
at the same time increasing the durability.
Force is transmitted effectively and directly and
the weight is reduced.
